The U-Dastan Ensemble plays the UNESCO World Heritage Twelve Muqams. Using Uyghur traditional instruments (Rawap راۋاپ , Aijieke غىجەك, Tembur تەمبۇر, Dutār دۇتتار, Setar ساتار, Percussion داپ), also the old-style singing, the ensemble plays the classical Muqams and Xinjiang traditional folks. Their performance will combine with visual projection, minority dressing and dancing to enrich the musical journey.
The Xinjiang Uyghur Muqam is the general term for a variety of Muqam practices widespread among the Uyghur communities, which form one of the largest ethnic minorities of the People’s Republic of China. Throughout history, the Xinjiang region has been marked by a high degree of cultural exchange between East and West, in particular due to its location on the hub of the Silk Road.

DAGADANA, for eight years now, have triumphantly merged elements of Ukrainianand Polish culture through jazz, electronic and world music. This time the bandhave embraced what tends to be overlooked today. Their record collects traditional songs from many regions of Poland as well as Ukrainian folk music. And there’s an exceptional piece recorded in Chinese–Kanding Qingge.
